TransOman expo opens tomorrow

Transoman, the inaugural event for the transport, shipping and logistics industry, will open on Wednesday at the Oman International Exhibition Centre.

The event, organised by Oman International Trade and Exhibitions (OITE) under the auspices of the Ministry of Transport and Communications, is the first of its kind catering to the transport and logistics industry in the Sultanate.

It will be inaugurated by Lieutenant general Malik bin Sulaiman Al Ma’amari tomorrow (October 14) evening.

The exhibition occupies 1000 sq m space featuring 47 companies, representing all spheres of transport and logistics including ports, airports, rail and land transportation.

The exhibition has attracted international interest from key logistics and transport hubs such as the US, UAE, Netherlands, Jordan, Germany, Sri Lanka,  the United Kingdom and Oman, said the organisers.

The expo will be open until Thursday from 10am to 1pm and 5pm to 9pm. It is supported by Oman Air Cargo (Official Airlines), Port of Sohar, Port Services Corporation – Sultan Qaboos Corporation (S.A.O.C), Oman Shipping Company S.A.O.C, National Ferries Corporation, Oman National Transport Co. S.A.O.C, and the Salalah Free Zone.

A highlight of TransOman is the inaugural two-day TransOman Conference titled, “Transportation Innovation and Challenges’ which begins on October 14 at the Golden Tulip Hotel, Seeb. The conference timings for the first day are from 9am to 4:30pm in the afternoon, while on Day two it will be from 9am to 1.30pm, .

According to OITE, over 130 participants including CEOs, ambassadors, company presidents, managing directors, general managers, advisors, divisional managers, logistics managers, project heads, country managers, sales and marketing managers and consultants will be at the show.

The conference will highlight some of the infrastructure projects such as  airport development  projects for Muscat, Salalah, Ad Duqm, Ras Al Hadd, Sohar and Adam and the various available opportunities within the ports and free zones development projects.-TradeArabia News Service
