Muscat, October 12, 2009
Inchcape Shipping Services (ISS), one of the world’s largest independent shipping agency networks, will showcase its marine packages including customised services at an upcoming shipping expo in Muscat.
TransOman, the inaugural transport, shipping and logistics event in Oman, will open tomorrow (October 13) at the Oman International Exhibition Centre. It will run till October 15.
Alongside the exhibition, a conference titled “Transport Innovation and Challenges” will be held on October 14 and 15 at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Muscat.
“Oman ports have sheltered and traded with ships from all over the world,” said Ajith George, assistant general manager of ISS, a gold sponsor of TransOman.
“Everyday our industry faces new challenges in terms of marine cargo, government services, and enterprise resources. We are delighted that an event such as the TransOman provides us with a unique opportunity to network and connect with various logistics players in the country as well as to meet and interact with our potential market,' he added.
ISS delivers a broad spectrum of marine services and tailors services to the individual needs of customers – whether a fully integrated global package, the handling of a local port call or the designed delivery of a single spare part, a statement said.
