Bahra Cables gets Kema certification

Riyadh, August 16, 2009

Bahra Cables Company, a leading cable factory in Saudi Arabia and a member of CPC Group of Companies, has received the world-famous Kema certification for its range of 0.6/1 kV power cables.

The test certification by the Netherlands-based Kema Quality BV - an independent authority in quality testing and certification of power distribution and electrical equipment – is a major endorsement of Bahra Cables’ quality processes.

Kema is an independent knowledge leader and a global provider of high-quality services to the energy value chain, specialising in business and technical consultancy, operational support, measurements and inspection, and testing and certification.

“The Kema certification to our power cables is one of the pivotal steps for Bahra Cables Company, reflecting that our products are truly one-of-its-kind with the latest technologies,” stated Talal Idriss, chief executive officer of Bahra Cables Company.

The certification, valid till July 2012, approves the power cable (including aluminum conductors, XLPE insulation and PVC Sheath) with extruded insulation for rated voltages up to 1kV.

“The core technologies in Bahra Cables’ production processes, material applications and logistic procedures have been provided by German experts and the key functions are being managed by German engineers,” he added.-TradeArabia News Service
