Qatar Gas Transport Company (Nakilat) posted a second-quarter net profit of QR179.29 million  ($49.26 million), up 252.2 percent, according to Reuters calculations.

The firm made a net profit of QR233.4 million in the first six months of the year compared with QR90.37 million a year earlier, the firm said in a statement on Tuesday, without offering a breakdown of quarterly data.

Reuters calculated the quarterly profit based on previous financial statements. Nakilat reported net profit attributable to shareholders of QR50.9 million in the second quarter of 2008 and QR54.11 million in the first quarter of this year.-Reuters
