Aluminium Bahrain (Alba), a leading aluminium smelter, will offer Bahraini students an opportunity to gain work experience during their summer break and acquire an insight into working in industrial organisations.
The Alba annual summer training programme is a corporate social responsibility initiative that enables university students in Bahrain to work in Alba for the duration of four weeks during their summer break.
It will be in two batches comprising 25 to 30 trainees and will commence on July 1 and August 1 respectively.
“At Alba, we consider the summer training programmes to be one of the most important investments that we make each year,” said Jehan A Majeed Hassan, Alba head of recruitment.
“It enables us to contribute in a significant way to the future of the country by sharing our skills, expertise and knowledge with young people, and we trust that the experience will mould them to be better and effective professionals in the future,” he added.
“They will receive training on business ethics and enterprise in action, learn about environmental issues and safety, coached on interview skills and writing their CV.”
Some of the departments involved in the summer training programme are internal audit, accounting, carbon, casthouse, marketing, environment, public relations and others.
At the end of the program, the trainees are expected to submit a report on the processes involved in the department in which they were assigned as well as explain any new points that they learned during the four week period of their training. – TradeArabia News Service
