GAC adds to Americas marketing team

Dubai, April 2, 2009

GAC Shipping has appointed Ana Silveira as its new marketing manager for Central & South America and Darren Martin as senior marketing manager for North America with immediate effect.

A graduate of the State University of New York Maritime College at Fort Schuyler, with a Bachelor degree in International Transportation and Trade, Silveira is fluent in Portuguese, Spanish and English.

She joined GAC immediately after graduation, as a hub coordinator in Houston, responsible for monitoring port calls for hub customers such as Chevron, BG, Euronav and Tanker Pacific.

“Central and South America is a large area and it is exciting to now have resources dedicated to promoting GAC Shipping to the developing maritime and trading community across the region,” said Neil Godfrey, GAC Shipping’s group sales director.

Darren Martin, who was until now responsible for GAC Shipping’s sales and account management across the entire Americas region, has been appointed senior marketing manager.

“With a newly defined sales territory of USA, Canada and the Caribbean, Darren will now be able to devote more time to applying his skills and experience in developing our important customer base in North America,” he added.-TradeArabia News Service
