GAC makes key appointments

Dubai, February 2, 2009

The GAC shipping, logistics and marine services group has made two new appointments to strengthen its global logistics activities.

John Faulds has been named GAC Logistics’ Global Account Manager, based in Bangkok. He brings to his new role a wealth of logistics expertise built from a career that spans three decades, said a company press release.

Prior to his appointment, he served for more than eight years as GAC’s Strategic Purchasing Unit Manager - Air Freight in Thailand, responsible for air freight purchasing strategy.

Before joining GAC, John served as Vice President of Jardine Logistics in the USA and Thailand where he managed numerous blue chip accounts.

Thanida Amornpatsophon assumes John’s previous role as Strategic Purchasing Unit Manager - Air Freight, in Bangkok.

She will be responsible for the improvement and re-evaluation of GAC’s air freight purchasing activities, with special focus on adding value and maximising savings.

Prior to her appointment, Thanida was a Strategic Purchasing Unit Executive - Air Freight, where she built a strong record in negotiating with suppliers.

Both John Faulds and Thanida Amornpatsophon report to the GAC Corporate Headquarters in Dubai. Their appointments come into effect on 1 February 2009, the release added.-TradeArabia News Service
