Bahrain unveils $8bn public transport plan

Bahrain is planning an integrated public transport system, including a monorail train network project at an estimated cost of BD3 billion ($8 billion), said a top transport official.
Under-Secretary for Postal, Telecommunication, Frequencies and Transport Affairs Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa told our sister paper Akhbar Al Khaleej that the strategic plan was aimed at easing traffic congestion until 2030.
The proposal included land appropriation, building stations and tracks and upgrading roads and services, he added.-TradeArabia News Service
