Agility ups stake in Danish firm to 100pc

Kuwait, July 2, 2008

Kuwait's Agility, the Gulf's biggest logistics provider by market value, said on Wednesday it has increased its stake in a Danish freight forwarder to 100 per cent from 29 per cent.

Agility said in a statement the stake increase was aimed at strengthening its presence in northern Europe, but did not give the value of the deal.

Agility has been trying to lower its reliance on US government logisitic contracts to supply troops in Iraq and Afghanistan by entering emerging markets and making acquisitions to boost its non-governmental business.-Reuters
