Zoom to build aluminium plant in Oman

A unit of Indian group Zoom Developers plans to build a $130 million plant for aluminium products near Oman's port of Sohar, an Indian embassy official said on Saturday.

'Zoom has leased land from the government near the port to build the $130 million plant,' a spokesman at the embassy told Reuters.

Work on the downstream aluminium plant is to start in the third quarter of this year by Zoom Aluminium Development. Zoom Developers is a Mumbai-based private group with interests in sectors including energy, engineering and real estate, according to its website.-Reuters
