The 27,000 tonnes ethyleneamines plant will be built at Jubail, Saudi Arabia. The planned facility will utilise proprietary ethylene amines process technology provided by Huntsman, the company said in a statement.

The respective boards of both Zamil Group and Huntsman Corporation, as well as the Saudi Industrial Development Fund (SIDF) have approved the funding for the new project. Funding includes a loan from the SIDF.

The boards of Zamil and Huntsman have also approved the formation of the new joint venture company.

The plant is expected to start operating from January 2010. Huntsman will license its technology to the joint venture for use in the plant and will also serve as the exclusive sales and marketing agent for the venture’s output, much of which will be sold in Asia. –TradeArabia News Service
