Dubai:, November 20, 2007

GAC Logistics has won a key honour at the 20th edition of Seatrade Middle East and Indian Subcontinent (MEIS) Awards 2007.

GAC regional director for the Middle East Bengt Ekstrand received the prestigious “Transport-Logistics-Freight” award on behalf of the company.

“This is a significant win for GAC which has proven that our continual investments in the Middle East and Indian Subcontinent region, particularly in the areas of warehousing and distribution have paid off,” he said.

The winners of 25 categories, selected by an independent panel consisting of respected industry figures, were presented the prizes at a gala event held at Madinat Jumeirah in Dubai, UAE, the organisers said in a statement.

MEIS recognises achievements made by companies in taking steps to improve maritime safety, strengthen security of ships and port facilities and protect the environment. The award also seeks to honour those who have made significant contributions to the Maritime business-related industries. – TradeArabia News Service
