MCT Group factories ready
Dubai, August 13, 2007
The MCT Group has completed construction work on its two manufacturing plants in the Dubai Investments Park (DIP).
One of the new facilities, Corrotech Construction Chemicals (CCC), is located in DIP Phase 1, while the other, Corrotech Construction Chemicals/Parex (CCC/Parex), is in DIP Phase 2.
Meanwhile, the MCT Group has recently acquired a third property in DIP, which will be used for the development of the company’s labour accommodation.
Construction of the accommodation facility will start within the next two months and is expected to be completed in September 2008.
"DIP is celebrating the completion of two projects from a key player in the construction industry, and we are pleased to provide an excellent location and the best industry resources to these new plants. DIP has been carefully master-planned to provide a fully integrated environment that is guaranteed to satisfy the broad range of requirements of major companies like MCT," said Omar Al Mesmar, general manager, DIP.
The manufacturing plants produce concrete admixtures, polymer-based products, blended powder products and other building materials.
With the new state-of-the-art facilities, MCT is committed to strengthening its presence in various market segments, particularly in the theme park sector, said a statement.
"We have invested substantially to build state-of-the-art facilities that will bring in the latest technologies and a wide range of tried-and-tested construction products to the UAE's booming construction industry. The plants’ strategic location will play a critical role in realising our objectives because of DIP’s high-quality standards and excellent reputation," said Philippe Tourbier, general manager, CCC/Parex.
CCC/Parex is a specially designed plant that is capable of producing 60,000 tonnes of technical mortars and coloured renders, using two different types of sand and cement along with specially developed mixes. The coloured renders have been particularly popular as they speed up construction of buildings because of the manner they are applied; the renders can be sprayed onto the surface and can also be used even on wet exteriors.
CCC manufactures a vast range of products, including concrete admixtures, epoxy-based flooring systems and fire-proof in-tumescent paint. CCC has also developed and patented a UV curing technology to make UV cured polymer-based sheeting material for pipe wrapping, steel sheet piling protection jetty, and loading jetty legs for all types of marine applications. The company is set to announce two more patented processing technologies later this year.
DIP is one of the largest integrated business and residential communities in the Middle East, providing all essential amenities of a self-sustaining city such as basic utilities, world-class infrastructure and excellent accessibility to key business, leisure and travel destinations in Dubai. –TradeArabia News Service
