Saudi German Hospital to build 100-bed facility in RAK

DUBAI, April 19, 2018

Saudi German Hospital, a leading healthcare group in the region, has announced plans to build a 100-bed specialty at Al Marjan Island, a luxury resort destination in the northern emirate of Ras Al Khaimah that will offer key healthcare including medical, rehabilitation and cosmetic services.

The hospital will serve the residents and visitors to Al Marjan Island as well as the wider Ras Al Khaimah community by offering specialised services in a modern hospital led by expert healthcare professionals, said a statement from the heathcare group.

Establishing the hospital is in line with the Saudi German Hospital Group’s mission to fulfil the healthcare needs of the public and to expand its presence across the UAE, and to support the country’s medical tourism sector, said Sobhi A Batterjee, the president of Saudi German Hospital Group.

"With the new hospital in Al Marjan Island, we aim to provide excellent and integrated healthcare services that will meet the needs of the people. It will serve the residents and visitors to Al Marjan Island and the wider community," he added.

The Saudi German Hospital in Al Marjan Island is scheduled to be operational in early-2019.

According to Batterjee, the hospital will offer seven specialties and by 2020, it will provide specialist care in 13 disciplines as well as expand the number of beds.

The medical and nursing team’s strength will also be increased in line with the proposed expansion, he added.

Al Marjan Island CEO Abdullah Al Abdooli said: “We are pleased to welcome the Saudi German Group to Al Marjan Island, which will further enrich the range of services that we are providing to residents and visitors from around the world."

He was speaking after signing the agreement with Reem Osman, the CEO of Saudi German Hospitals Group.

"With the increase in number of residents and visitors, it is important that we offer them truly world-class healthcare services in close proximity. The addition of the hospital will add to our appeal as a truly integrated destination, and will help us consolidate our market leading position as a hub for tourism and investment," he stated.

Al Abdooli said: “"The establishment of the hospital reflects the vision of our leadership to strengthen the all-round infrastructure of Ras Al Khaimah as per international standards. The Saudi German Group is a pioneer in providing high quality medical services and we are confident that the new hospital will be a valuable addition to Al Marjan Island and Ras Al Khaimah.”

Al Marjan Island is a 15-minute drive from RAK International Airport and 45 minutes from Dubai International Airport. In all, the master-planned community will feature 7.8 km of beaches, 23 kilometres of waterfront, 6,500 planned residential units, 8,000 planned hotel rooms, 400-room wellness retreats and 600 holiday villas.-TradeArabia News Service
