Medlab to feature 17 French companies

DUBAI, December 20, 2017

A total of 17 French companies, including six new companies, will be taking part in the upcoming Medlab 2018, the largest laboratory exhibition in Dubai, UAE.

The event runs from February 5 to 9 at Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

France's range of in vitro diagnostic devices will be displayed over an area of 189 sq m, and will showcase the innovations that form the strategic foundations of the sector's development. Today, these major innovations are being used in nanotechnologies, genomics, proteomics and metabolomics.

In France, the market for IVD (in vitro diagnostic) medical devices for laboratory use is worth approximately €1,418 billion ($1,764 billion). There are around 200 specialist IVD companies in France, which directly employ about 1,000 people.

The French in vitro diagnostics market is composed primarily of SMEs. Self-monitoring of blood glucose (SMBG) and in vitro diagnostics in laboratory settings account for 18 per cent and 82 per cent of the market, respectively. Public and private hospitals account for 40.5 per cent of turnover, with the laboratory-based IVD market showing a slight decline.

French companies at Medlab will be unveiling their latest innovations in the reagents, analysers, medical and molecular biology, and haematology segments.

With the help of two regional partners — Lille Eurasanté and the Nouvelle Aquitaine region— the pavilion run by Business France will showcase the latest French innovations at Medlab 2018. – TradeArabia News Service
