Aster announces more healthcare projects in Kerala

DUBAI, August 4, 2017

Dr. Azad Moopen, chairman and managing director of Aster DM Healthcare today addressed the media and announced that the group is launching two hospital projects in Kerala, India, located in Kannur and Trivandrum.

The group is also evaluating a proposal to set up a Children’s Hospital in Kochi, adding another 1,099 beds. Aster already has 2,480 beds in their four hospitals in Kerala with 4,764 employees.

Aster MIMS at Kannur and Aster Capital at Thiruvananthapuram are in different stages of construction and planning. The proposal for the new 150 bed Aster Children's Hospital in Kochi is in planning and conceptualization stage and will be located within the Aster Medcity campus.

The project work on the 200 bed multi-Speciality Aster MIMS at Chala, Kannur is underway and is expected to be ready for launch by 2018. This shall serve the population of North Kerala.

Land has been acquired for the 749 bed Aster Capital  near Akkulam lake on NH 66 (old NH 47) at Thiruvananthapuram and is proposed to be a Multi-Speciality Hospital. The expected date of completion is end of 2021.
