New neuroscience, spine centre planned in Dubai
DUBAI, May 15, 2017
Investment bank Audacia Capital and Dr Abdul Karim Msaddi, founder of the Dubai Neuro Spinal Hospital, have entered into a partnership to establish a leading neuroscience and spine centre of excellence and an advanced oncology centre in Dubai.
Audacia Capital is leading a group of Saudi and Qatari investors to inject Dh180 million ($49.01 million) into the new 120-bed facility due to open in Dubai Science Park, by late 2018.
The new state-of-the-art hospital will provide leading neuroscience, spine, orthopedic and oncology care, and bring cutting-edge radiosurgery treatments to patients of both the UAE and region for the first time. Oncology and neurosurgery are some of the most sought after specialties for treatment abroad in the region.
Emad Mansour, founder and CEO of Audacia Capital, said: “The Neuro Spinal Hospital is renowned for its highly experienced team who are already bringing the most advanced techniques, treatments and technology to the UAE, and delivering quality care through various specialist services. Audacia Capital is committed to supporting this excellent work, which is aligned with the UAE’s vision to establish itself as one of the top medical tourism destinations around the world, by driving growth and expansion into new specialist treatments that aren’t available elsewhere in the region. The new hospital will have state-of the-art medical equipment and be able to attract top international talent across various medical specialties.”
He continued: “This investment is in response to the growing demand for specialist healthcare within the country and region. We are very proud to have established this partnership, and confident that the new facility will be a game changer for healthcare in the UAE.”
Dr Abdul Karim Msaddi established the Neuro Spinal Hospital in 2002, which currently offers neurosurgical, neurological, spinal and orthopedic care through an expert team of specialists, advanced equipment, technology and evidence-based techniques.
Dr Msaddi said: “We are very pleased with our new partnership with Audacia. Our shared vision for excellence is what we believe will make this project a success. We aim to bring world-class health care services to Dubai to reduce the practice of referring patients outside the region for treatment. We are committed to excellence in clinical care, innovation and education. Spreading knowledge for the benefit of the community through our educational conferences and courses is something we will remain dedicated to. This new hospital, and the range of education programs it will bring to Dubai, supports our mission.”
He continued: “Dubai has established a global reputation for innovation in many fields and we are pleased to play our part in enhancing the UAE’s reputation as a destination for quality healthcare. Thanks to the visionary leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and the support of the Dubai Health Authority, we were able to attract this investment from GCC investors. With this support, I believe that we will also be able to attract top talent from around the world and bring home the latest technologies, for the benefit of all patients across the region.” - TradeArabia News Service
