Blindness warning to a fifth of diabetics in Bahrain

MANAMA, November 16, 2015

A fifth of diabetes patients in Bahrain are at risk of going blind from a condition that can seriously damage eyesight, an expert has warned. That is because 20.4 per cent of them have diabetic retinopathy, revealed King Abdulla Medical City Ophthalmology Department consultant ophthalmologist and vitreoretinal surgeon Dr Mohamed Naeem Naser, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.
