Thumbay to host eye and dental camp in Dubai

DUBAI, September 16, 2015

Thumbay Hospital Dubai, a 150-bed ultra-modern private teaching hospital in the emirate owned and operated by Thumbay Group, is set to conduct a three-day ‘Eye & Dental Camp’ from September 17.

The camp aims at increasing awareness and promoting eye and dental health among the public, said a statement.

It will offer free consultation with expert dentists as well as a range of dental procedures such as filling, cleaning, extraction, braces and whitening at discounted costs, it said.

It will also offer consultation with accomplished eye-specialists at Dh130 ($35), which will include IOP testing, fundus evaluation, slit lamp evaluation and computerised eye testing.

The camp will particularly cater to patients with eye-related conditions such as cataract, diabetic retinopathy, hypertensive retinopathy, allergic eye disease, red eye, Glaucoma, short/long sightedness, difficulty in night driving and photophobia.

Retinal scan for diabetic eye screening will also be available.

Akbar Moideen Thumbay, vice president of the Healthcare and Retail Division, Thumbay Group, said: “We regularly conduct many such camps as part of Thumbay Group’s corporate social responsibility. With these camps, we aim to help the public gain easy access to superior healthcare, as good quality healthcare is usually rather expensive in this part of the world.

“We always get overwhelming response for our health camps, and a lot of people across the UAE benefit from our camps.” - TradeArabia News Service
