New fitness fest set to launch in Dubai

DUBAI, August 31, 2015

A new health and well-being event is set to launch in Dubai, UAE catering to all ages and abilities to participate in fun fitness, endurance and strength competitions, try out new sports and activities, and learn how to change lifestyle habits for a healthier future.

The Etisalat Fitness Fest will run from November 5 to 7 at the Dubai Autodrome, and is set to be the biggest, most all-embracing celebration of fitness, life and positive energy that the Middle East has ever seen, said a statement.

Saeed Hareb, general Secretary, Dubai Sports Council, said: “The Etisalat Fitness Fest supported by the Dubai Sports Council is the most important event concerned with health and fitness in Dubai.

"It will certainly provide a step forward in the right direction helping to improve the health and well-being of the population living in the UAE and is aligned with the Vision 2021, and the national agenda.”

Regardless of age, gender or health level, individuals will be able to enjoy the fresh air while participating in fun-filled health and fitness challenges such as the UAE’s fastest man and fastest woman competition, the Ultimate Fitt Youth Games, a cycle challenge, the panda run for children and the Fit Republik Fitness Challenge.

The visitors will also be able to experience the Dubai Fitness Expo which will offer a fun, engaging environment to inspire guests with a connection to sporting celebrities and trainers, as well as brands and products in a way that simply isn’t possible online or by reading reviews.

The expo will star 2014’s ‘Fittest Woman on Earth’, Camille Leblanc-Bazinet, a Canadian professional CrossFit athlete who will give an insight into how she became world-class, her punishing training regime and her nutrition tips for aspiring champions.

Those wishing to take part in the Cycling challenge, Cycle Tots, Fit Republik Fitness Challenge, Ultimate Fitt Youth Games, Against Graviti obstacle race, the Panda Run, the fastest man and woman or the strongest man and woman, can also sign up online.

Chris Fountain, managing director of Turret Media, the organisers, said: “Dubai has become a much fitter city in recent years as a range of gyms and classes have opened, but this new event is aimed at everyone – our city’s most healthy as well as those who need a helping hand.

“We have created an event that is open to all walks of life.  Etisalat Fitness Fest is the perfect opportunity for anyone looking to kick-start a new, healthy way of living.  It is a chance to participate in a series of competitive challenges and also to change lifestyle habits by learning about what is necessary for general wellbeing through a schedule of on-stage seminars.”

The outdoor event will play host to hundreds of the region’s best health and fitness businesses, top sporting ambassadors and local UAE clothing brands.

The new TribeFit will take part to host the ‘TribeFit Urban Zone’.  The world-class gym, group exercise and sports facility centre offers inspirational personal training, gruesome beach boot camps and in-club DJ’s alongside a social calendar packed with monthly activities.

Other exhibitors already signed up and raring to go include Against Graviti, the ultimate physical fitness and personal coaching programme, Talise Fitness, Fitness 360, Fitness First, Bonk Breaker Nutrition, PULP juice bars, Be Sport Bike Shop, E-sports, Bay Yoga, The Hot Box Kit, Reebok and Clean Living Well Being, a global distributor for the Forever Living Range.

The main stage will be a popular hot spot at the event, as a line-up of famous celebrities, athletes and coaches will give presentations and masterclasses providing insights into the secrets of their success, as well as hints and tips on how the audience can achieve health and fitness goals.

Prize presentations, injury clinics offering expert advice on coping with sports-related injuries, on-stage demonstrations in yoga, Pilates, powerlifting and Zumba will also feature on the main stage across the three day extravaganza. - TradeArabia News Service
