Aster Medcity wins JCI accreditation

Aster Medcity, a leading healthcare destination in India, has won the Gold Seal of Approval from the Joint Commission International (JCI) for exceptional standards in healthcare and patient safety.
Known as the gold standard in global healthcare, the JCI Accreditation was awarded only to the best hospitals in the world after identifying, measuring and sharing the best practices in overall quality, patient safety and employee safety, said a statement.
The award was based on the latest and the most stringent evaluation standards that measured a total of 1,145 elements, it said.
Aster Medcity is the first quaternary care hospital in Kerala to win the JCI Accreditation.
Paula Wilson, president and chief executive officer of JCI handed over the accreditation to Dr Azad Moopen, chairman, Aster Medcity and Dr Harish Pillai, chief executive, Aster Medcity, in the presence of Dr Prabhu Vinayakham, managing director, Asia Pacific JCI and several other dignitaries.
Based in Illinois, US, JCI is a division of the Joint Commission Resources (JCR), a private, not-for-profit affiliate, which works to improve patient safety and quality of health care in the international community by offering education, advisory services, and international accreditation and certification.

The Joint Commission International (JCI), in the audit report, has appreciated the entire team of Aster Medcity for their calibre and in-depth knowledge, said Dr Moopen.
