Bahrain ‘free from Mers-Cov’: Minister

Bahrain is free from coronavirus which causes the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (Mers).

Health Ministry assistant under- secretary for primary and public healthcare Dr Mariam Al Jalahma said all 770 blood samples taken have turned out to be negative, reported the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.

She urged health workers to comply with rules and hygiene.

She also urged the public to avoid close contact with patients who show acute respiratory symptoms.

Anyone who shows acute or severe respiratory symptoms should visit the nearest health centre.

The total number of coronavirus cases is 839 globally, including 294 fatalities, according to the latest World Health Organisation report. - TradeArabia News Service
