Medcare opens new centre in Dubai
Dubai, February 9, 2012
Medcare, a UAE-based private healthcare organisation, has extended its services with the establishment of a new major multi-speciality clinic in Dubai.
Located on The Walk, Jumeirah Beach Residence, Medcare Medical Centre (MMC) will cater for residents and visitors in the upmarket Marina community and act as a referral centre for Medcare Hospital.
The centre was officially inaugurated today by Imad Namrawi, director of Taziz Property Management Solutions, Dr Azad Moopen, chairman, DM Healthcare and Medcare Hospital and Shamsuddin Bin Mohiyuddin, director, Regency Group.
According to Medcare, MMC will complement the JBR community lifestyle. The holistic facility is operating extended opening hours and has an on-site laboratory and Aster Pharmacy, with the aim that visits by patients will be ‘one stop’ affairs to maximise convenience.
MMC is offering services in internal and family medicine, paediatrics, obstetrics, gynaecology, dermatology, general surgery, cardiology, urology and nutrition. The centre is also running a visiting consultant programme.
“The MMC clinic was designed with the aim of providing a range of medical services all under one roof. The clinic hosts visiting consultants from Medcare Hospital to ensure that if a referral needs to be made, continuation of care is assured,” said Dr Azad Moopen, chairman, DM Healthcare and Medcare Hospital, a 67-bed multi-specialty hospital.
“Many of the clinic’s resident staff are experts in their field, with the philosophy of care underpinning the centre being that clients in the JBR area should have access to international standards of health service delivery on their doorstep,” he added.
The launch of the new MMC clinic at JBR is the first milestone in Medcare’s 2012-2013 expansion strategy. The organisation is shortly to open a dedicated orthopaedic hospital located on the Sheikh Zayed Road and will continue its programme with a number of satellite community clinics being established in other areas of Dubai over the next two years.
“JBR is one of the most popular areas in Dubai, both for residents seeking a desirable place to live and for visitors looking for beachfront recreation activities,” said Ala Atari, CEO of Medcare.
“It is the largest single-phase residential development in the world, with its population of 10,000 increasing by many times that amount at the weekend. We felt that there was a need for a tertiary healthcare facility that to provide a premium holistic service for this busy area of the city and to this end have selected a team of medical experts from across the disciplines to staff our MMC clinic there,” he added. – TradeArabia News Service
