Abu Dhabi, April 7, 2011

The Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (Seha) has been awarded the ‘health tech innovation award’ for its work in electronic medical records during the recent ID World Abu Dhabi 2011, the annual EMEA summit.

Seha was recognized for adopting electronic medical record (EMR) technologies in the world of healthcare to improve patient security, hospital efficiency and the safe supply of pharmaceuticals.

“We are pleased and honored to be recognized for our achievements at such a prestigious event which offers evidence of the unique position UAE taking on the global technological map,” said Saif Bader Al Qubaisi, Seha chairman.

“At Seha, we use technological advancements as a catalyst to improve patient encounters, reduce unnecessary test and x-rays and help free up our caregivers to offer healthcare services to our customers of the highest of standards.”

Robert Pickton, CIO of Seha, said: “This advanced technology [EMR] enables our medical staff to access unified electronic patient records throughout Seha facilities through a simple, swift, and secure process.”

“The EMR is a key initiative of Seha’s strategy to adopt state-of-the-art technology that complements the Abu Dhabi government’s drive to develop excellence in health care.”

Around 40 countries from around the world took part in the annual conference to share expertise and enhance ID card security codes and provide quick services to customers, a statement said.

Over 400 leaders and technology experts gathered to discuss tested strategies, best practices and innovations in elevating the automatic identification industry in the Middle East to a whole new paradigm, it added. – TradeArabia News Service
