GlaxoSmithKline launches Panadol Advance
Dubai, November 8, 2010
GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) has launched Panadol Advance, the latest innovation in paracetamol treatments, which is now available across the UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, Lebanon and Yemen.
Panadol Advance was created to give the consumer a smart relief for everyday pain, spending less time in the stomach and releasing its medicine in as little as five minutes, a statement said.
“In order to further strengthen our leadership in the pain management category, we are launching the latest OTC innovation, the new Panadol Advance with Optizorb. Panadol Advance with Optizorb is a result of vast research conducted by GSK scientists. This product works in a whole new way revolutionising the way tablets are absorbed and is a major Advance in the world of paracetamol,” stated Ambati Venu, VP and general manager, GSK Consumer Healthcare for Middle East & North Africa.
Panadol Advance with Optizorb is a 500 mg caplet formulation with a patent-protected formula. It still has all the suitability of ordinary paracetamol but differs with its fast-dissolving action that is due to an advanced disintegration system called Optizorb.
Optizorb revolutionises the way tablets are absorbed. It is a combination of two ingredients, alginic acid and calcium carbonate that activates the disintegration system. It works effectively to release its medicine in as little as five minutes to relieve the pain whilst still being gentle on the stomach.
In clinical studies, the rapid disintegration and dissolution provided by Optizorb leads to faster and more consistent absorption compared with standard paracetamol tablets and caplets. This, in turn, leads to therapeutic threshold of paracetamol being reached at least 37 per cent faster than with standard paracetamol tablets or caplets.
Panadol Advance with its new innovative formula, is safe and effective for the the treatment of mild to moderate pain conditions such as headache, migraine, muscles ache associated with cold/flu, dysmennorrhoea, dental pain, musculoskeletal pain, pain of osteoarthrisis, sore throat and fever.-TradeArabia News Service
