Osteopathic centre opens new clinic

Dubai, December 12, 2009

Dubai-based Osteopathic Health Centre (OHC) has opened a new clinic in uptown Mirdif to meet the increasing need for the osteopathic treatment, which is used to improve the musculoskeletal system.

Seventy per cent of people above the age of 20 working in Dubai suffer from occasional back or neck pain, with acute low back pain increasingly appearing to be the most common cause of physical disability in people under the age of 45, said a recent market survey.

'In the modern day world, with the hectic pace of life and increasing amounts of stress, more and more people are suffering from back pain, neck pain and headaches,” said Dr Malcolm Gregory, the founder and lead osteopath at OHC.

“The increased usage of computers is also causing a significant increase in cases of musculoskeletal imbalances. Our primary goal at OHC is to eliminate pain in our patients and to provide them with professional advice and unique exercise programs to control and prevent further discomforts,” he added.

Osteopathic treatment works with the human body’s natural tendency towards balance. An imbalance between the muscles and bones of the body results in lasting pain and movement restriction, said a statement. – TradeArabia News Service
