SABB, Saudi university launch programme for SMEs

RIYADH, February 28, 2018

The Saudi British Bank has joined hands with King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) to launch the second phase of Taqadam program to support university-based entrepreneurs’ projects that includes 37 teams of students and faculty members from 18 Saudi universities.

This came after the success of the program in its first version.

Taqadam is an example of SABB's major initiatives in support of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 and an aspirations model to support the SME sector in the Saudi economym, said a statement from the Saudi bank.

SABB is providing financial grants for new projects and innovative ideas of the universities students and faculty members and turning them into an emerging companies with promising potential, it stated.

The Taqadam program supports initiatives in various fields such as financial technology, digital solutions, industrial solutions and food and water sustainability, it added.-TradeArabia News Service
