Abu Dhabi University to open new campus in Dubai

DUBAI, April 18, 2017

Abu Dhabi University (ADU) has announced plans to open a new campus in Dubai offering master’s degree programmes in law, business and engineering.

The announcement was made during ADU’s participation in Gulf Education & Training Exhibition (Getex), the leading student recruitment event held in Dubai.

The university’s expansion drive is aligned with its strategy adopted since its inception in 2003 to promote academic excellence and continuous growth. It is based on intensive studies that identified the current and future requirements of the labour market as well as the growing demand for high-quality higher education and postgraduate programmes in important disciplines such as business administration, engineering, law, literature and science.

Ali Saeed Bin Harmal Al Dhaheri, chairman of Abu Dhabi University’s executive board, said: "The opening of our new campus in Dubai articulates the vision of the UAE's wise leadership to galvanise efforts towards building a knowledge-based economy and foster a culture of innovation that ensures sustainable economic growth for future generations. It also follows the blueprint laid by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in Al Dhafra Region and President of Abu Dhabi University's Board of Regents to make ADU a national academic institution that contributes to preparing qualified graduates who actively participate in shaping the future of our nation.

“Today, our academic institutions play a significant role in building knowledge-based economies, achieving sustainable development and improving the quality of life. This mandates concerted efforts to promote scientific research and implement the national strategy for innovation, beginning with our students and continuing to broader society and various economic segments,” he said.

The academic programs offered by the new Dubai campus include Master of International Relations, Master of Education in Leadership, Master of Science in Special Education, Professional Graduate Diploma in Teaching, Master of Public Law, Master of Private Law, Dual Executive Master and Doctor of Business Administration, Master of Strategic Leadership, Engineering Management, Master of Project Management, Master of Science in Sustainable Architecture, and Master of Information Technology.

The new ADU campus will be based in Dubai Knowledge Park, the leading hub for academic education, vocational training, human resource management, and knowledge economy capacity development in the region. The ADU campus will be the latest addition to Dubai Knowledge Park’s more than 500 partners including several prestigious universities, training institutes and human resource firms that offer a wide variety of academic, training and professional development programs in latest disciplines. Catering to the needs of various businesses, the park serves as a vital link between highly skilled workforce and industry sectors.   - TradeArabia News Service
