City Centre Alexandria event focuses on inclusive education

CAIRO, August 30, 2016

City Centre Alexandria, owned and managed by Majid Al Futtaim, and Village of Hope for Development and Social Rehabilitation have partnered to help raise awareness about the need for more inclusive education options, particularly in primary school, for persons with disabilities.

To help support the cause, City Centre Alexandria and Village of Hope organised a special event at the mall’s food court featuring a wide variety of art and entertainment that speak about the importance of inclusion in education including a puppet show, clown interactive theatre, magician and balloons.

“At City Centre Alexandria, working with the local community to raise awareness about issues that impact the well-being of our children is important,” said Mostafa Kholief, mall manager, City Centre Alexandria.

“As part of our three strategic focus areas for sustainability, community wellbeing and engagement demonstrates the socio-economic value we bring to the communities in which we develop and operate. We aim to enhance people’s lives through sustainable real estate which aligns with our corporate vision to ‘create great moments for everyone, everyday,’ and helping improve access to education for everyone, especially those with disabilities, is a cause we’re honoured to support.”

Majid Al Futtaim has a proven track record of making a difference in the local community. The most recent initiative, launched during Ramadan 2016, was the 10th annual ‘Make a Difference’ Ramadan Campaign across the region.

In Egypt, the donations collected at City Centre Alexandria and City Centre Maadi amounted to the total of EGP487,456, in addition to over 2000 bags of toys, books and clothes; reflecting the true and philanthropic nature of Egyptians during Ramadan.

City Centre Alexandria is the only regional mall in the city of Alexandria, attracting more than 13 million visitors annually. Spread across over 60,370 sq m of retail space, City Centre Alexandria offers a unique retail mix, with 168 international and local brands, and a 12,000 sq m Leisure Precinct offering the finest dining outlets.  - TradeArabia News Service
