Tamkeen hosts outreach event for NGOs

MANAMA, BAHRAIN , March 27, 2016

Bahrain’s Tamkeen recently organised a “community partnership” event, where it reviewed its partnership with local community organisations and briefed them on its strategy for the next stage.

The event is part of Tamkeen’s Community Engagement initiative, which was launched in 2013 to consolidate relations between all segments of Bahrain’s society and raise awareness about Tamkeen’s services and programmes.

Addressing the attendees, Tamkeen chief operating officer Amal Al Kooheji expressed gratitude for the great efforts exerted by local community organisations, particularly their role in advancing professional, training and living standards in local communities.

She said: “Through this important initiative, we hope to build a direct and solid relation with all local community organisations. This would help us directly communicate with these NGOs, respond to their special needs, enhance our services through various support programmes, promote awareness about them, and encourage everyone to take advantage of them.”

“Since the inception of the Community Engagement initiative in September 2013, more than 200 local events were organised and over 60 visits to cities and village were made, which have contributed to serving 9,300 clients.  We have greatly benefited from the valuable views and observations received, particularly in reviewing and redesigning our programmes, which were relaunched in late 2014 to best fit the needs of all target segments,” she added.

A semi-government organisation, Tamkeen has been tasked with developing Bahrain’s private sector and positioning it as the key driver of economic development. -TradeArabia News Service
