Tamkeen hosts workshop for academic, career mentors

Bahrain's labour fund Tamkeen has organised an interactive workshop for academic and career mentors from the Ministry of Education’s Directorate of Public Education and Directorate of Technical and Vocational Training to exchange professional knowledge and expertise.
The Workshop participants discussed best practices and modern mentoring techniques as well as means to enhance strategic partnership between Tamkeen and the two directorates, said a statement.
A presentation was delivered to the audience on Tamkeen’s role in providing individuals and enterprises with opportunities to grow and develop.
Tamkeen’s Customer Engagement and Support Department highlighted its various professional mentoring initiatives as well as established co-operation with the Ministry.
Dr Ebrahim Janahi, chief executive, said: “This workshop is the outcome of a continuous cooperation between Tamkeen and the Ministry of Education.
Tamkeen and the Ministry had agreed to periodically hold such workshops, emphasising the role of academic and career mentors in preparing and guiding students to meet the needs of the labour market, he said.
During the workshop, effective mentorship and career guidance methods were reviewed in addition to discussions on ways to further enhance these methods.
The participants were also briefed on the Kingdom’s economic outlook and their contribution to the national economy, and provided facts on the labour market and employability in Bahrain. - TradeArabia News Service
