Emiratis to be awarded for innovation and creativity

A conference aimed at promoting national ideas by Emirati inventors and entrepreneurs is set to take place in Dubai, UAE.
The fourth Cycle of UAE Ideas Conference and Award 2015 will take place on November 26 at the Four Seasons Hotel, Jumeirah. It is being organised by the Dubai Quality Group.
It will be inaugurated by Sheikh Nahyan Mubarak Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Culture, Youth and Community and Development.
It aims at encouraging organisations to invest in Emirati human resources and create an ideal work environment that will stimulate and encourage creativity and innovation.
A panel discussion by young Emirati inventors will be the highlight of the event where they will discuss their success stories and in turn inspire generations to come.
Fatima Alkaabi, will be one of the inventors who will present her case study.
An eminent team of Emirati inventors - Wasfi Alshdaifat, Eida Almuhairbi, and Farah Afif Kassab, who have contributed to more than half of the inventions of Abu Dhabi, making it the top Arab capital for innovation will present their case study on 'innovation and invention culture.'
Since 2015 has been declared as the year of innovation, the UAE has prioritised innovation mainly to keep its competitive edge in the region and to boost its diversification efforts, said a statement.
The other objectives of this conference include creating a unique creative platform for Emiratis and highlighting their roles in the development of UAE and strengthening national identity through creativity and promoting Arabic language through rewarding the creative ideas and innovation in this field, it said.
The best creative and innovative Emirati ideas will be rewarded under - Innovation in promoting Arabic language; Innovation in promoting National Identity; Innovation in promoting, encouraging and empowerment of UAE citizens; Promoting marketing and representation of UAE abroad; Promoting voluntary and humanitarian work; Promoting e-Government; Promoting environmental work; Promoting business; Media coverage of a national initiative; and Promoting Emirati inventors (Young Inventor and Overall Inventor).
Members from The Executive Council, Dubai University and KHDA will share insights on the importance of innovation and creativity in the workplace. - TradeArabia News Service
