ICDL Arabia starts training for women job seekers

DUBAI, October 28, 2015

ICDL Arabia, the governing body and certification authority for the ICDL certification programme in Egypt, GCC and Iraq, has commenced training courses for women job seekers and entrepreneurs in the UAE.

This follows the trip partnership agreement signed by the National Human Resources Development and Employment Authority (Tanmia) and Aramex, a leading global provider of comprehensive logistics and transportation solutions.

The four-week-long training programme will educate 50 women selected by Tanmia and sponsored by Aramex in three different centres in Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah and Ajman.

In Fujairah, 15 women candidates will undertake the Program on Social Media at Fujairah College, while another 15 will take up the ICDL Program in Ras Al Khaimah’s Al Noor Centre.

Both courses already started recently and each session will be three hours long. In Ajman, 20 women will study under the ICDL Program that already started at the New Admin.

Jamil Ezzo, director general of ICDL Arabia, said: “As part of our commitment to empower the women of the UAE with the necessary digital and social media skills for their effective integration into the country’s evolving labour market, we have signed a cooperative agreement with Tanmia and Aramex.

"We already started our four-week training program for 50 women job seekers and entrepreneurs. We have carefully selected courses that will strengthen their information and communication technology (ICT) skills and prepare them to excel in the current job market, contributing to the UAE’s economic development." - TradeArabia News Service
