Khaleeji Commercial launches summer training programme

Khaleeji Commercial Bank (KHCB), a leading Bahraini Islamic retail bank, has launched its annual summer training programme in Bahrain.
It accomodated a large group of interns from across Bahrain studying in various local and overseas universities, said a statement.
The selected trainees were distributed to different departments based on their specialisations and were placed under the guidance of designated officials who will mentor and guide them during the internship period, it said.
The human resources department ensured the provision of a well-rounded programme for the interns to get hands-on training in the Islamic banking and shari’a principles that apply to both theoretical and practical training experiences.
Other skills that the interns will gain are leadership qualities, the ability to work well in teams and the aptitude to handle work under pressure as the market demands.
The purpose of this programme is to allow the interns to experience day-to-day banking operations in the Islamic banking sector, which will help them develop a broader understanding of the Islamic banking system, and at the same time to assist them in the completion of their practical training requirements for their graduation.
With the many detailed and well thought out courses that emphasize on the Shari’a principles that govern the Banking system in Bahrain which the students will be immersed in, they will emerge from the training program proficient in Islamic Banking and thereby, dominant in their respective positions.
Khalil Al Meer, chief executive officer, said: “The bank will continue to perform with regards to its social responsibilities and constantly looks towards furthering its cooperation with institutions of higher education in all specialised fields in order to take part in the development of the Bahraini society and support youths who embrace the future of a prosperous Bahrain.
