1,450 students complete skills development programme

ABU DHABI, August 15, 2015

1,450 students from various schools across Abu Dhabi and Al Ain have recently completed the three-week long “Injaz” activity as part of Abu Dhabi Education Council’s (Adec) 13th edition of the “Sayfuna Mumayaz” programme.

The programme is aimed at enhancing creative talents and innovative skills in English language, International English Language Testing System (IELTS) preparation, entrepreneurship, and Future Leaders course, said a statement.

Attending the programme’s closing ceremony at Abu Dhabi University campus, Mohammed Salem Al Dhaheri Abu Dhabi Education Council’s executive director of school operations, said that the university’s strategic partnership with Adec and its continuous efforts in ensuring the programme’s success as evident in Abu Dhabi University Knowledge Group’s achievement of attracting around 18,250 students in the programme since 2008.   

Al Dhaheri said: “Sayfuna Mumayaz represents a national initiative that hones youths’ talents and instills within them the importance and value of innovation and creativity in accordance with the best international practices.”

“Our aim is to develop a strong foundation of internationally competent innovative human capital specialised in various disciplines,” he said.

During his visit to the Abu Dhabi University campus, he awarded the winning students of the programmes’ “Creative projects Competition” in the presence of Dr Ahmad Badr CEO of Abu Dhabi University Knowledge Group (ADUKG), Humaid Abdullah, Adec's student services division manager, and Nasser Khamis, Adec's extracurricular activity section manager. – TradeArabia News Service
