Al Rashid honoured for role in workforce growth

Bahrain-based Al Rashid Group, a leading retail organisation, was recently honoured by the Ministry of Labour with three awards for its contribution to training Bahraini workforce.
In a ceremony under the patronage of Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, Minister of Labour and chairman of the High Council for Vocational Training, Al Rashid Group received the awards which are independently managed by the ministry.
In the past year, Al Rashid Group has institutionalized various skill building, career progression and behavioural interventions for Bahraini employees as part of its focus to improve Bahrainisation.
Al Rashid achieved an average of four man-day of training for each individual Bahraini employee in the past 12 months, through 21 different workshops.
Another award won proudly by Al Rashid Group during the ceremony was to recognize its best employee of the year – Ali Matrook – Homebox concept manager – for his remarkable contribution to the company performance over the past 12 months.
During the ceremony, Vikas Attri, Al Rashid Group COO was also invited to take part of a discussion panel involving the most influential retailers of the Kingdom to discuss about possible initiatives to improve even more the standards of training in the Kingdom.
“We constantly focus on increasing and improving our training initiatives and processes not only to attract local workforce, but also and most of all to support our employees in their long-term career progression” said Sachin Dutta, head of Human Resources of the company. “We will continue our efforts in the next coming years to ensure that we remain one of Bahraini’s favourite employers” he added. – TradeArabia News Service
