Key BIBF dealing room wins support from ABC
MANAMA, April 29, 2015
ABC has announced its sponsorship of an initiative by the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) to establish a simulation training dealing room at the institute.
This is the first educational facility of its kind in the region, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.
It was established to support the BIBF's objectives of providing quality professional education and training in this financial field.
“The dealing room and the simulation programme will help a new generation of bankers obtain practical experience in addition to theoretical training and further prepare them for the work environment,” said ABC Bahrain head of human resources and administration Adel Al Abbasi.
“As a good corporate citizen, ABC is committed to sponsoring activities and institutions that help enhance the skills of the local workforce.”
BIBF deputy director Dr Ahmed Al Shaikh said the institute appreciated ABC's continuous support of BIBF and its interest in training Bahrainis and reducing the skills gap in the labour market.
The dealing room powers technology-enabled experiential learning, allowing students to learn about trading in a real market environment.
The facility launched its first course, titled 'Trading, Market Making and Portfolio Management' in March with participants travelling from Oman and Saudi Arabia to attend the training. - TradeArabia News Service
