Mercer appoints new talent business principal for ME

DUBAI, April 21, 2015

Global human resources consultancy Mercer has appointed Saqr Ahmed Mohamed, the first Emirati national as its new principal for Talent Business in its Middle East office.

Around the world, Mercer help clients advance the health, wealth, and performance of their most vital asset — their people.

From strategy through to implementation, the organisation works to help them forecast their talent needs, engage employees, mobilise their workforce, reward performance, assess talent and develop leadership programs and skills.

Saqr has over 15 years of experience in senior and leadership human capital and talent acquisition roles in prestigious and highly recognised government and quasi-government organisations in the UAE.

He joins Mercer at a time when private sector organisations are ramping up the hire of Emirati nationals in light of recent government directives. Public sector organisations, in turn, are seeking to advance the caliber of their national workforce.

The developments mean that Mercer’s role will see it as a valuable conduit, assisting organisations across the various sectors and acting as a powerful advocate for Emirati employees looking to maximise their opportunities in the constantly evolving workplace.

Cameron Hannah, chief executive officer of Mercer ME, said: “We are delighted to welcome on board Saqr Ahmed Mohamed, who is taking up a key leadership role at Mercer. We believe that his invaluable guidance and advice to our ME clients will ensure that we continue to bring effective and impactful solutions to their business needs.

“His appointment will also serve the needs of Emirati employees across the sectors by ensuring the best and most competitive remuneration packages for their work.” - TradeArabia News Service
