200 Mideast students to compete for $1m Hult Prize

DUBAI, March 9, 2015

More than 200 students from 51 teams from across the Middle East will compete this weekend for the opportunity to attend the Hult Prize Accelerator, an innovative incubator for social enterprise.

The Hult Prize Foundation’s Middle East Finals will take place on March 14 at the Knowledge Village in Dubai, UAE, one of the five finals taking place around the world, said a statement.

The successful teams will earn a place at the Global Finals in September, hosted by President Bill Clinton in New York, where the regional champions will pitch their start-ups in front of a world-class audience, with the winning team awarded the $1 million cheque to try and change the world, it said.

The Hult Prize Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to launching the world's next wave of social entrepreneurs.

It encourages the world's brightest business minds to compete in teams to solve the planet's biggest challenges with innovative ideas for sustainable start-up enterprises. - TradeArabia News Service
