Manama, September 1, 2014

Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) said its second batch of students have surpassed the global pass rates in the Certificate for Documentary Credit Specialists (CDCS) qualification exams offered by ifs University College, UK.

The cohort commenced in December 2013 and included participants from banks and export firms with between 5 to 25 years in the banking sector, from Heads of Trade Finance to Trade Finance officers and document checkers.

The credit specialist qualification exam CDCS is a globally recognised professional qualification for industry practitioners that enables them to demonstrate the specialist expertise needed to perform effectively in a fast-paced commercial international trade environment.

"The course was very informative and provided me with the necessary tools for the continuation of my professional career. It has also helped me understand the different aspects of trade finance," said CDCS student Amaal Mohammed Abdulla.

"BIBF gave me the opportunity to meet excellent professors with extensive professional and academic experience," she added.

The course has been developed in consultation with industry experts to make sure that the qualification reflects best practice and was created by the International Financial Services Association (IFSA) and ifs University College.

This certificate is also supported by the British Bankers Association (BBA).-TradeArabia News Service
