BAETC, GAA sign aviation training deal

BAS Aircraft Engineering Training Centre (BAETC), fully-owned and operated by Bahrain Airport Services (BAS), has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with aviation training provider Gulf Aviation Academy (GAA).
The MoU aims to increase both parties' aviation training business, sales, marketing, and enhance the aviation engineering and non-engineering training capabilities, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.
BAS acting chief executive Salman Al Mahmeed and GAA chief executive Capt Dhaffer Al Abbasi signed the agreement during a meeting.
GAA quality assurance manager Hussain Bushehri, business development manager Ammar Al Raees and aircraft technical instructor Abdulhadi Al Saffar were also present as were BAETC senior manager aircraft maintenance and engineering training Ahmed Al Mulla and BAS senior manager for training and development Khalid Al Bastaki.
BAETC is the first organisation in the region and the second in the world to receive an EASA Part-147 training organisation approval outside the European Union.
The centre provides basic aircraft engineering training, specialised aircraft type-rating courses, as well as ground operations training.
BAETC is also accredited by Edexcel to award the UK Higher National Diploma in Aeronautical Engineering.
GAA is an approved training organisation by the European Aviation Safety Agency.
Internationally recognised for its training standards and quality of service, GAA is the first academy outside the UK to be a CAA (subsidiary of the UK CAA) accredited initial safety training cabin crew training organisation. - TradeArabia News Service
