J4B marks first year with Tamkeen backing

Manama, March 10, 2014

Jobs4Bahrainis.com (J4B), a leading online employment and careers service, has achieved a number of milestones in the first year of its strategic partnership with Tamkeen, Bahrain’s Labour Fund.

As of the end of February, a total of 300 companies - from large organisations to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) - were taking advantage exclusive access to the most comprehensive searchable CV database in Bahrain on the J4B portal, which enables employers’ job vacancies to be uploaded easily and quickly.

At the same time, J4B’s skills database - open to individual members free of charge - has expanded to 18,200 candidates, the largest pool of Bahraini talent available to employers in the market and allowing for employers to accurately, methodically and efficiently match their skills needs with those available on the database.

Emcor Facilities Services (EFS), a Bahrain-based company which offers regional facilities management services, is among the companies to have benefitted from the J4B approach and capabilities in the last year.

David Brown, general manager of EFS, which recently hired five Bahrainis via J4B, said: “What struck us most was both the speed of placement and the calibre of candidates - we posted five positions on the portal and all five were filled quickly with high quality Bahrainis who met our criteria and needs.”

The portal’s accelerated success has been underpinned this year by the support of Tamkeen, which meets 100 per cent of the registration costs of eligible companies from diverse sectors.

Amal Al Kooheji, vice president for Human Capital Development, Tamkeen, said: “One of Tamkeen’s missions is to provide support to enhance the productivity and growth of individuals in Bahrain.

“In Jobs4Bahrainis.com we have a service which has, over the last year, proven its capabilities as a valuable job resource for qualified individuals in the Kingdom as we all work together for a more prosperous economic future. We are proud of this strategic partnership with J4B and look forward to supporting its growth and future initiatives.”

Among other highlights of the last 12 months for J4B was the introduction of career seminars for job seekers late last year, as well as a wholesale revamp of the portal in early February, resulting in a cleaner, more contemporary user friendly product.

Hussain Ali, project manager, J4B said: “Jobs4Bahrainis.com can reflect on a tremendously exciting last 12 months, the successes of which would not be possible without the support of our partner Tamkeen.

“But while it is always nice to look back on milestones they simply serve as a platform and inspiration for future initiatives. We therefore look forward to working with Tamkeen to further build our reputation as the “go to” online recruitment resource in Bahrain for companies and individuals.”
