Bahrainis top GCC nationals seeking Saudi jobs
Riyadh, March 6, 2014
Bahrainis accounted for 70 per cent of Gulf nationals seeking employment in Saudi Arabia, said a report.
It was followed by Omanis, Emiratis and Kuwaitis, while not a single Qatari application for work was found in the kingdom, said the Arab News report.
"These figures underscore the robustness and strength of the Saudi job market," Tareq Al-Kahili, a placement expert was quoted as saying.
"They also point to the presence of employment opportunities in the most promising employment market in the Gulf."
The Eastern Province received the highest number of applications for jobs from GCC citizens to work in the Kingdom, followed by Riyadh, said the report.
The Nitaqat nationalisation system does not categorise Gulf workers as foreigners or Saudis, it added.
