NIIT signs deal with Com Group

Hidd, March 4, 2014

Bahrain's National Institute for Industrial Training (NIIT) has signed a deal with Com Group to be a strategic partner of the ‘Training 4 Life’ event that is planned in June.

The ‘Training 4 Life’ initiative, which is to be held from June 3 to 5 at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre, is being organised by Com Group in conjunction with Al Hilal Group and North Star Associates.

It will be a mix of exhibition and educative workshops aimed at providing the opportunity for young Bahrainis to ‘experience’ their future careers in a vocational training environment.

The target audience include technical school students, job seekers, employers and training institutes.

Abdulla Mohammed, NIIT assistant director, said: “Unlike other such exhibitions, ‘Training 4 Life’ brings a new theme by adopting the practical prospective targeted at its audience. Various stands with live workshops will be held to demonstrate real work environments, like welding or car repairing.

Ali Al Noory, business development manager, said: “This exhibition will enable its visitors to actually practice a stream of various vocational jobs instead of just relying on the theoretical explanations from others. It will give the youth and their parents the chance to get a better understanding of the available job opportunities in the market.”

“’Training 4 Life’ is aimed at encouraging Bahraini youngsters to find the career that suits their skills.  We feel that the only way for them to make an informed choice is by witnessing at firsthand what it takes to be a car mechanic, a beautician or a chef,” added David Gargett of Com Group.

The planned workshops include sessions on starting own business from Cockpit Arts in the UK, part of the Prince’s Trust and Jaimie Oliver’s initiative.

Other supporters of the event include Tamkeen and Jobs4Bahrainis. - TradeArabia News Service
