Bayt.com to offer career advice at Tawdheef

Abu Dhabi, February 3, 2014

Experts from Bayt.com, a leading job site, will be on hand to offer career advice to Emirati jobseekers at Tawdheef 2014, a major vocational fair that opened in Abu Dhabi today (February 3).

Organised by Informa Exhibitions, Tawdheef is running from February 3 to 5 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre. Career advisors from Bayt.com will be tackling the importance of managing a professional online presence and identifying ways to build and engage with professional networks.

Bayt.com will also showcase its new socially-enabled platform, “Baty.com Specialities” which has been designed to completely overhaul the hiring process and further empowers jobseekers and employers.

Suhail Masri, vice president of Sales at Bayt.com, said: “Having a professional online presence is absolutely essential;  the results from our latest ‘Hiring Management in Mena’ poll shows that an overwhelming majority – some 84 per cent – of employers take the time to research candidates online before making a final hiring decision.”

“Throughout Tawdheef, we are encouraging UAE nationals to visit us and receive free CV consultancy where we will highlight their strengths, weaknesses and the structure of their CV.  We’ll also be conducting a Career Services Presentation on CV writing and interview techniques.

“Visitors will be able to receive a wealth of useful information from our experts which has been garnered from more than 13 years of career research and daily dealings with the region’s top employers, and we’ll provide career recommendations to help Emirati professionals optimise their job hunt strategy with the best results,” Masri added.

According to Bayt.com, 100,000 Emirati professionals have registered on the website and are looking for better career opportunities.  In addition, more than 40,000 employers are using the website to fill vacancies at all career levels and in a variety of industries.

“In line with our mission of empowering people with the tools and technologies to build their lifestyle of choice, we are excited about taking part in Tawdheef and offering support and career advice to Emirati jobseekers,” said Masri.

Major companies taking part in Tawdheef and looking to welcome Emirati talent on board include Emirates Aluminium, Sharaf Retail, UAE Exchange, First Gulf Bank, Abu Dhabi Sports Council, Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority and Abu Dhabi National Energy Company, among others. – TradeArabia News Service
