J4B jobs portal a boon for Bahrainis
Manama, December 3, 2013
Online employment and careers service Jobs4Bahrainis.com (J4B) has gone from strength to strength, with more than 200 leading companies in the Kingdom now benefitting from the service and a host of value-added features recently introduced to help employers find the right candidates.
The portal, fully aligned with Bahrain’s Economic Vision and powered by Tamkeen - which meets 100 per cent of the registration costs of eligible companies using the service - has seen employers from an array of sectors posting job vacancies and viewing filtered CVs of some of the 16,500 job seekers currently signed up free of charge.
Now, J4B has introduced new functions designed to enhance the employer experience. An Advanced Search option now limits duplicates of CVs usually found in the CV Search section; an Archived Jobs section is available where previously deleted postings can be reactivated; an Extended Vacancies section enables employers to extend an expired listing; an Online Feedback Form enables employers to send feedback to the J4B team; and a dedicated Contact Us section enables employers to contact the team directly with any technical or general queries.
Jubran Abdulrahman, the managing director, Jobs4bahrainis.com said: “A defining feature of the portal since launch is enablement - enabling job seekers and leading recruiters in the Kingdom to better connect. Now, with the upgraded portal functionality we are enabling employers to assume greater control over the services they need. We will continue to seek ways to add value in this way, taking into account feedback from users.”
Commenting on the announcement, Tamkeen’s acting VP for Human Capital Development Amal Al Kooheji said: “ The J4B initiative comes as part of Tamkeen’s efforts to help prepare and train Bahrainis for their career growth as well as providing solutions for business owners who want to grow their businesses, and J4B forms an excellent platform as it benefits both job creators and job seekers, with job creators being able to find candidates with talents that match their operational requirements on one side, and job seekers being able to find opportunities that match their skills on the other.”
According to the Bahraini portal, the employers in the Kingdom continue to respond positively to the initiative.
Masooma Al Turkamani, the head of Human Resources, Bahrain Financing Company (BFC) said: “We would like to thank Jobs4Bahrainis and Tamkeen for their support in promoting our Bahrainisation initiatives. We were able to identify and recruit talented Bahrainis by giving them an opportunity to leverage their skills and embark on a successful career path."
" We hope to attract many more talented Bahrainis in our company through Jobs4Bahrainis," Al Turkamani stated.
Thomas Vadum la Cour, the general manager of Haldor Topsoe, a global supplier of catalysts and technologies which recently recruited two chemical engineers for its local operations via J4B, said: “Jobs4Bahrainis.com has proved to be the ‘go-to’ resource for talented Bahraini engineers since we first engaged the service in June this year. The standard of available talent on the portal is outstanding and we look forward to working with the Jobs4Bahrainis.com team in future to help fulfill our human resource needs.”-TradeArabia News Service
