Manama, December 1, 2013
Gulf Connexions, one of the world’s fastest growing specialist executive recruitment companies, will be the Official Recruitment Consultancy for the upcoming the World Islamic Banking Conference (WIBC 2013) in Bahrain.
The 20th anniversary of the event will be held from December 3 to 5.
Widely seen as the leaders in recruitment in emerging markets, including across the Muslim world, Gulf Connexions will have senior expert consultants on site throughout the three days of the global Islamic banking showcase in Manama.
Gulf Connexions’ senior consultants will offer specialist advice to both participating companies and potential candidates at WIBC 2013, which will bring together more than 1,300 Islamic finance experts from over 50 countries representing more than 400 institutions - including some of the industry’s most accomplished thought leaders.
Announcing their participation at the World Islamic Banking Conference 2013, Derek Dorman, chief executive officer of Gulf Connexions, said: “One of the main challenges facing the dynamic and fast growing Islamic banking industry is the availability of talent.
“As an expert in sourcing Islamic finance talent across the region and internationally, Gulf Connexions is the preferred recruitment partner for many of the world’s leading institutions in this industry. Our partnership with WIBC, with its high calibre line up of more than 1300 senior executives, is the perfect platform on which to exercise our capabilities and expertise in this area.”
David McLean, chief executive of the WIBC, said: “As a form of financial intermediation that is well anchored to serve the real economy, Islamic finance has the distinct potential to fully serve a broader reach of clients and needs. However, much still needs to be done if the industry is to truly come of age and play its part on the world stage as a powerful form of ethical finance.
“For the last two decades, the WIBC has been a significant platform for the global Islamic finance industry to converge and discuss the way forward, catering to the ever evolving needs of the industry.
“The theme of the 20th Anniversary WIBC 2013 will focus on ‘Industry Transformation to Improve Global Competitiveness’ across key areas of the Islamic finance sector including business models and strategies, regulatory and supervisory frameworks, legal structures, and human capital development that are essential to prepare the industry to forge ahead with more success in the years ahead.
“We are delighted to have Gulf Connexions as the Official Recruitment Consultancy for the 20th Anniversary edition of the World Islamic Banking Conference,” he concluded. – TradeArabia News Service
