Varkey Gems Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Gems Education, has supported Sewa Day, a globally recognised initiative encouraging thousands of people to come together with an aim of supporting their local community.

This is done by getting directly involved in activities that enhance the environment, relieve poverty or bring joy to the community.

Sewa meaning “Selfless Service” in Sanskrit was launched on October 7 and will stretch throughout the months of October and November in the UAE.

The Gems Schools have organised tree planting activities, offered daily necessities to the less fortunate, blood donations, visits to old age homes and flash mobs to raise awareness about the importance of protecting the environment. – TradeArabia News Service
