Dubai, April 17, 2012
The University of Dubai (UD) will unveil its newly approved PhD and MSc programs as well as provide details on a host of training courses and undergraduate programs at the upcoming Getex in Dubai.
The 24th edition of the Gulf Education and Training Exhibition (Getex) will run from April 19 to 21 the Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre.
The UAE Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA) recently approved UD to offer a Master of Science (MSc) degree program in computing and information systems.
The MSc program will be offered in the Fall Semester, which begins in September. The program concentrates on information systems management and will be offered through the College of Information Technology (CIT).
The CAA also recently approved Initial Accreditation for a Doctor of Philosophy in Business Administration – UD’s first doctorate program. The program is schedule to start in the Fall Semester 2014.
Dr Faouzi Kamoun, University of Dubai’s Dean of CIT, said the MSc program starting later this year will be unique to others offered in the region.
“The design of the program reflects opinions made by IT Directors interviewed from all around the region and the curriculum is based on market needs and emerging trends, covering the critical aspects of both information systems management and leadership,” he said.
New students who apply for admission to an undergraduate program during Getex will be offered an exclusive 10 per cent discount off entire first year of tuition, according to a statement.
UD President Dr Omar Hefni said, “Getex is an excellent platform where we can highlight the quality education that UD offers and at Getex, the attendants are those who truly care about such an education.” – TradeArabia News Service
