Getex Dubai set to open Thursday

The spring edition of Getex 2012, the region’s leading education, training and professional development event, is set to open on April 19 in Dubai, representing more than 500 institutions and 2,500 academic and training programmes.
Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, UAE’s Minister for Higher Education, will open the event to an audience of over 30,000 visitors during its three-day run at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Key highlights of this edition of Getex include the General Education segment that will offer parents of K-12 students a host of options among international residential and boarding schools and Excellence Forums, an increasingly popular networking platform that provides students with invaluable resources and information that will assist them in making the right career choices.
The event will also feature the Professional Development segment that will provide tools and resources to support graduates and professionals enhance their career prospects through various professional development programs.
The Occupational Education segment that will offer several options for vocational courses, particularly for those who want to pursue a job-oriented programme; and the Global EDTECH Forum, a teacher’s conference integrating best practice in communicating and teaching by equipping educators with the latest tools, skills and technology in education delivery.
Getex 2012 will also introduce a unique Business School cluster in light of the growing interest in entrepreneurship and business education in the UAE and across the region, making it easier for students to choose from available courses being offered by prestigious academic institutions. – TradeArabia News Service
